This is my 2nd room circulator. I have been using the larger 270 for over 1 year to supplement the thru the wall air conditioner and base board heat.. Unless the a/c is on high fan which is very noisy, the cool air seems to never make it to the end of an 18' room. However, I have a 12' hallway running at a right angle at the end of the room and warm are seems to get stuck there. The compact 573 does just the job of pulling some of that cool air down the hall. Unlike other fans which blow air and anything in front of it, this truly does gently circulate the air. I am able to lower the thermostat on my heat and raise my thermostat on my a/c, both by several degrees.

Imagine my surprise when not 2 years into owning this, the motor squeals like a banshee and the blades turn fast then slow.... I have cleaned it, and oiled the blade shaft and to no avail. This I expect from a lesser model fan, and have had this happen to them, but a Vornado? If you only want a year of use out of it, then just expect a year or so use. It WAS quiet and efficient when it was new.

Great circulator for such a small package.

For such a diminutive circulator, air flow generation is exceptional. I wish I had bought two of them as I could use another in the living room too. Additionally, I like that it can be used with heat sources as well and not for just the air conditioning. Lastly, the design of the unit enables it to be positioned horizontally or vertically. A neat feature that enhances its overall appeal and usefulness.

The PERFECT desk fan

Just purchased today and already impressed with this product! I am a current vornado owner at my home, so it would make sense to have one at the office as well. I am glad I went with this model as I originally went with a Flippi V8 and found it to be a good product quality-wise, but a bit weak in the performance. I like a good strong breeze while I am working, and this certainly delivers. That and it is very quiet-won't disturb others around me. Thank you, Vornado, for building yet another fan worth the extra few bucks.
