It circulates the air really well compared to the old stand up fan i had. If i point it directly at myself when i sleep i almost freeze even with blankets on. But thats a good thing since the hoise we are renting has a smaller air conditioning unit for the house. My friend showed me the fan and exactly what i was looking for and i give the honor and praise to the Lord for having someone show me about the fan.

Exactly what we needed

This fan manages to move warm air from the next room to the rest of our old house from its perch on the refrigerator. And at low speed it's totally quiet. Perfect solution for our needs!

I picked this fan up to replace a box fan that was moving air from my bedroom into my living room. I was surprised by the performance (It moved more cool air into my living room than the box fan did,) and how quiet the fan was. On low, I would forget that it was even running. I have since moved and the fan came with, I still use it in the same way.

The best fan I have ever purchased

I am a Justice of the Peace and with black robe at outdoor weddings this fan has made a huge difference keeping myself and wedding party cool in the summer months.

It really cools things down.

Bought 1 unit in hopes it would help circulate the cooled air from a window A/C in the small old house I have. AC unit coud not blow cool air the 30 feet into the living room. A pedestal fan I bought helped some but fell short of my expectations. I plugged in the 630 and set it about 7 feet from AC. Wow! Within minutes you could feel the cool air in the LR. The unit was also quieter than the pedestal. After running the system for 24 hours, I was thoroughly impressed with the units performance....so I went out and bought another one for the Master Bedroom. Although the AC unit in the MB worked ok, addition of the 630 circulated the cool air faster and more evenly. I am very impressed with the 630 and intend to purchase a tower fan in the near term. CONS: This is more of a "nice to have" suggestion as I would have liked even thge 630 to have a remote control.

Pros: Compact size for the air movement it puts out. Heavy, solid construction, nothing like cheapo fans the same size. Padding under the base ensures the unit will stay in place when placed on a slick surface. REALLY moves the air; works great as a unidirectional fan when sitting right in front of it during the hottest part of the day but truly shines when it comes to cooling things down once the sun sets, dropping the indoor temperature much more quickly and efficiently than any combination of standard fans. Very quiet on low and medium settings, only slightly louder on high.
Cons: None that I can think of. Don't be fooled into thinking this is just another fan. It is not; the performance is superior to any fan and belongs in a class of its own.

Simply fantastic [pun not intended, really]

I bought this as a replacement for a Lakewood Kool Operator Jr. (8"), a fan which I've used everyday (and sometimes 24hrs/day for weeks on end), for nearly 20 years. Although the Vornado is a bit bigger, it's not so much so as to be a problem, and it actually seems more robust - which I can only hope to mean another 20 years with this fan. Compared to a cheap one I'd found online, well, there really is no comparison, on low this moves considerably more air than the cheapie does on high, and while a tad louder (vornado on low, cheap one on high), it's not appreciably so. When cranked up to high, it's quite loud - which is what I needed for a whitenoise while sleeping - and why I marked the rating as 5/5 for quiet, as it is quiet, but also produces a volume that I was looking for.

I love my Vornado!

Living in one of the world's most humid countries is no joke! As much as I'd like to keep the A/C on the whole day, more economical measures are required. Turn off the A/C, cool down the room, then turn off the A/C, all the while letting the Vornado do its job. Whisper quiet on the lowest setting, slightly on the loud side when on the highest setting.
The Vornado 630 certainly is well built, the parts don't feel cheap at all. I've got small kids, so those large, metal bladed industrial types don't really appeal to me. The 630's grill certainly does a great job of keeping my childrens' fingers where they should be: on their hands!
One minor gripe, though. Vornado's distributor in the Philippines only has a 1 year warranty on it. If it breaks down after that, I'm thinking I better buy another one.

This product is a lifesaver in the summer.

I live in Seattle, where it rarely gets hot enough to justify AC in the home. However, we've had a few heat spells in recent summers that can drive temperatures in our older, poorly venhilated home into the mid-90's. Last year we purchased 2 of these mid-size fans and I can not believe how well they circulate the air through the second floor of the home and how quickly they can cool down the house when the sun goes down. They are powerful fans and I love how they don't take up much space.

We have five different Vornado fans and each of them is an excellent value and performer. The 630 is quiet on lowest setting and has allowed us to raise our air conditioning temperature to about five degrees above what we use, thereby saving hundreds of dollars per year.
Vornado is always worth the small extra in the price for warrranty, performance and effectiveness.

I really like how my Vornado looks and goes around my house. The description says it is a medium size, it's actually quite small when compared to what we've seen at home improvement or similar stores. It is well built and Its compact size is perfect for sofa table, end table or, as intended, on the floor. We use it as a regular fan, not an air circulator which defeats its original purpose, but we like it this way. With the lowest speed, the fan is quiet enough and never interferes our conversation at the dinning table. With highest speed, like others, it's not going to be as quiet but we never set it above the lowest speed.
If I could change one thing about this fan, it would have to be the speed selection. I'd like the lowest speed to be the first click, instead of the highest speed.
Overall, if you have to move your fan around a lot, in the house, this is the perfect one. The price is a little high but its look blends in seemlessly with all the furnitures in the house. We have it over a year now and it's still going strong. I like mine. I'm sure you will like it too.

I take this fan with me to all the events that I DJ/Emcee. I can discretely set this up and point it directly at me. Its sleek black appearance blends in, but yet really "packs a punch" when it comes to keeping me cool. I am usually in a 3-piece suit when I perform, so keeping a constant flow of air concentrated specifically on me (keeping me wonderfully cool) is a true blessing for me. The Vornado is the ONLY fan I will use (and have used for years).

I love this fan so much that I bought two of them and I've had them both for over three years now. Initially, I had a tough time convincing my wife that we needed one, because they appear to be quite expensive for what they are. However, once she experienced the 630, she became a believer and we now own quite a few other Vornado products as well.
The 630 has a very small footprint for such a powerful fan, it moves a ton of air even at the low setting. The 630 makes our A/C MUCH more efficient. Now, we keep the AC set to a much higher temp in the summer, usually around 78 and the room stays surprisingly comfortable! We usually run the low setting at night, as the 630 works as both a low-level white noise machine and keeps the air in the room from getting stuffy. The mid setting is fantastic for general use when the windows are open, freshening the house in minutes instead of hours. The high setting is fantastic for drying mopped floors or airing out the bathroom after using harsh cleaners; what used to take forever in these humid environments the 630 does in minutes. Would I buy another one? Absolutely. Would I recommend one to a friend? Without hesitation and with great enthusiasm.

Vornado Fans are - "Simply the Best"

There is no comparison to a vornado fan, they are "simply the best".
They are quiet in operation, and the amount of wind they produce is phenominal. The drug store fans are what I consider disposable.
My Vornado travels with us, and goes on the job when we perform service calls. Living in Arizona, I could not live without my vornado.
I recently broke my fan blade, and was prepared to make another purchase. To my pleasant surprise - it was under warranty, and they shipped me a new blade at no charge. Awesome customer service!!!
