AWESOME - Vornado AQS 500 Air Quality System

After owning an Ionic Air Purifier for years, the Vorando is much easier to clean. Yes, you have to pay to replace the filters. It is far better than having to throw out the Ionic Purifier when it becomes clogged and too difficult to clean. The Vorando seems to collect more dust and spores too! You will definitely notice that you have to dust your home less with an air purifier. We have noticed that we don't get sick as often too. It removes the cat dander from the air too, as my cat is a piggy. Make sure you replace the filters when they look dirty, not when the machine suggests you do it, as I have found mine lasts 2-3 times (months) longer. Obviously, I recommend this product. It is a small price to pay for the benefits it provides.

strange cat behavior

After 15 minutes of running on quick clean I noticed the cat was walking slowly and methodically with neck stretched out and nose up, she was sniffing, moving about slowly and with each step turning the nose another direction. This behavior continued till she felt she had made the point to me that I was changing her environment. Product works.

I purchased 2 units. They were easy to set up, just plug in. The units operate very quietly on the low fan setting. I'm very pleased with the performance. The timer is not what I expected but overall a very good value.

Vornado is the Best

I've come to to rely on Vornado's quality and performance. I already have 4 of their heaters from the personal heater that I have at work to the whole room heaters that I have in various areas of my house. Those together with all of my Vornado fans have more than exceeded my expectations. The AQS Whole Room Purifier was no exception. From day one we noticed the air in the house was fresher and cleaner. I highly recommend this purifier, especially in the winter time and if you have pets.

The quiet mode is great! The Quick clean is a plus

Have not had the machine very long- but can say that I love the quiet mode and quick clean. I have the machine in my toddlers room and it was recently very helpful when he was sick with a virus. No way to tell if it was from the air purification but - my other kids did not get sick! Also- it is quick to remove the smell of a diaper change :)

I love my vornado air circulators so I thought I'd try this air cleaner. On the high speed, it definitely clears out dust quickly but is fairly noisy. Plus, it blows air around and since it is winter here in New England, it creates a bit of a chill in the room. But, the air seems clearer. On the lowest fan setting, the unit is much more quiet but there is still a hum and it doesn't clear the air as well (plus there is still a chill in the air from the circulation). My guess is that this unit will be fantastic in the summer when the a/c is running. Last, it doesn't clear odors like smoke or wet dog, but rather, recirculates the odor. It would be great if there was a way to clear odors, as well.

Like the other Vornado products that I have, the AQS 500 is superb. Mostly, I am impressed with how well they design these things. They are consistently well made and I expect that the AQS 500 will last as long as one of my humidifiers (still running fine after 5 years).

We've got two

We first bought this to rid our athletic son's room of that smell that comes from dirty sports gear that can't be easily cleaned. The unit struggles with this task. We bought the second one to get rid of the musty smell in the basement which it does nicely, even when my mother visits and wears too much perfume. The worst part is trying to find replacement filters for it since it's an "older" unit.

We have used the air purifier in our basement and our teenage son's room. All the cleaning could not get rid of the odors but the filter has been quite successful. I am now purchasing a second purifier and more filters.

I've had terrible seasonal allergies in the spring and fall, and our carpets shed dust like none other. Since I've had this product, the dust in my bedroom has virtually disappeared. My only problem would be that it removes humidity from the air; I also used to get frequent bloody noses, so I had to turn it off, since it would outdo my two humidifiers. It's very dry here to begin with.
That's beside the point. Great product, highly recommended! I have mine in a corner, and it works great!

I got this purifier because my girlfriend is allergic to dogs. I have an Akita lab mix so he's a 80lb dog. I put this in my bedroom by the door where he sleeps at and this thing has worked like a charm. the only thing now is i wish i had one in every room. I wish it was a little bit less noticeable maybe all black or something. but what the heck it works. I am just now ordering filters and it's been almost a year and some change. i just leave it on the quiet setting and it makes your room smell so fresh. awesome product love it.

I have several allergies. I am allergic to many plant pollens and dogs. My old filter broke and I bought this one. Its quiet, low maintenance, and has never shown deterioration in performance. I've nearly had it for a year and just now had to replace the filters because the light turned on!

My husband has allergies so we originally bought this for him and it helps him to sleep great at night and not wake up wheezing. Then we adopted an asthmatic cat and realized if we just left the vornado on all the time, he didn't have any asthma attacks. Great product! Perfect for our little apartment :)

I bought this for my daughter's bedroom. This helps keeps her room clean so she does not react to allergens. I like the timer on this last generation because it allows me to set for an 8 hour sleep. The quiet mode is a nice enhancement.
