I took my flippi out of the box and the minute I saw it run, I thought it was amazing. I have my midnight blue flippi on my computer desk and makes a nice breeze on low speed, so I see no need for a high speed!! But this fan DOES have a few bugs. On high speed, there is quite a bit of noise. Otherwise, I see this fan as a great fan for a bedroom or desk. Although it's loud on high speed, the only way you know the fan is on when it is on low speed is the breeze on your skin. GREAT fan!!!

This is a neat little gadget. It is quiet, has a small footprint, and is currently used on my computer desk. When operating it DOES NOT scare my "poor little kitty kat" (yeah....17 lbs of poor little....)who sleeps on the desk, it does curculate the air within a 3-4 foot radius of its location, and after a few minutes of operation, I don't notice anything except the gentle folding of air being circulated. Wish I would have thought of this item for Christmas. Definitely recommended if you need a small air circulator in a small location.

This fan was included with my purchase of the tower fan. It's a perfect size for a desktop and provides just enough air circulation for one person. And, it looks great - not like the usual personal fans you see at Target.

It replaces a much larger Vornado I used at my office for about six years. This one is a faction of the size and much, much quieter.
I recommend it as a personal fan without reservation.

Great little fan! I wish there were more speed settings (maybe a setting lower than the lowest setting, that's more like a breeze). Unit is not as quiet on the lowest setting as some other units that I've used before but that's most definitely from the lowest setting still blowing a good amount of air.

A desk fan with both style and function

This great looking, compact fan is perfect for a desk or nightstand where it can be positioned within 2-3 feet of the user. The head rotates 180-degrees and the unit swivels on its base making it possible to position the fan just about anyway you want. Its 2-speed settings is a feature you don't usually see in fans of this size or price range, but even at close range I find the "low" setting lacks enough power to really be useful. Overall a great value worth recommending.

I bought this fan for my office desk because it offered multiple speeds, was advertised as whisper quiet, and had a neat design. After a couple weeks of use this is what I've found. The dial is difficult to turn to power on/off or adjust the speed. You have have to hold down the base before you can turn the dial. Also, to turn on or off, you have to go through the high speed to go to or from the low speed. The high speed is definitely not whisper quiet. The low speed was fairly quiet when I first got it, but after I accidently left it on overnight there has been a rattling sound that I find quite annoying. This rattling is even more pronounced on the high setting, which combined with the wind noise makes for a loud fan. I like that I can point the fan in most any direction, but don't have a need to flip it closed since it stays on my desk and that's just one more thing I'd have to do to get it going.

I expected the Flippi to move more air because of the Vornado reputation. On the high setting, I can barely feel it at four feet away. The head also has some trouble staying where I put it. It wants to 'fall down' from where I set it. It is also noisier than I would like.
The motor blocks a full third of the fan swept area. Moving the motor further from the fan with an extension shaft, and increasing the intake size by also wrapping it around to the sides of the Flippi, would decrease the blade pass noise and increase air flow.

I've used this fan for about 3 weeks, and it creates an extremely loud annoying rattling noise on the high speed. On the low speed, it rattles less, but it's far less than ideal. I bought this product because I have trusted the Vornado brand in the past, but it's clear that the construction of this fan is shoddy at best. I now have to buy another (non-Vornado) fan to replace this one. This has been a disappointing waste of money.

I chose this fan based on the claim that it would send a column of air up to 20 feet and the Vornado reputation and previous experience with this brand.
The truth is that this fan put out a very weak airflow, even on the high setting. I set it on my desk and could barely feel the breeze just a couple feet away. It is a cute design but is seriously lacking in performance.

My first Vornado, I bought this little guy because I wanted a small fan to directly cool me at work, and at home. I saw this, saw how it could fold up into a interesting little shape, and decided to give it a try.
For being a 3 inch fan I must say the air pressure it can put out is impressive. on low I can feel the full air column about 10 feet away, which tapers off to a slight breeze around 15 feet away. On high it can push that air column 20 feet like it says, tapering off to a slight breeze about 23 feet away. It's fun to sit across the living room and aim the fan at one of the cats, and 5 sec later ruffle their fur.
The noise level on low is quiet, but high tends to be a little bit noisy. Not that for what I use it for I really need the high setting. But most of the noise seems to be the air pressure.
The looks are nice, with a glossy finish, and the signature Vornado grill, with the rear vent looking a little like a ancient GE fan I used to have, it folds up into a nice piece of artwork.
The only issue I seem to have with it, and I dont know if it's a precursor to a problem with the motor, is that when aimed up, or at a steeper angle up, the rpms seem to decrease a bit. Im hoping a Vornado rep will know something about this, but other than that this is a awesome fan.

I purchased my Flippi so that I could have a powerful fan to travel with. I love how it can fit in a suitcase and fold up so that it doesn't take up a lot of space. I also love that it uses the same technologies as the Vornado Air Circulator. It works great for me, and would be great for frequent travelers.

I needed a small fan for my office as it's starting to get warmer outside. After shopping around my local retailer I found this Vornado in the midnight black color. The modern style of it was different from the other cheap and clunkly looking fans on the shelf which caught my eye. After looking over the box I was sold on this product after seeing the 3 year warranty - combined with the great price I bought this fan. After just setting it up and turning it on, I will say that the II or 'high' setting is VERY loud and disappointing. However, the I or 'low' setting is perfect for my office. I like the swivel and rotating features which really personalize the air-flow. The sleek look makes it more a piece of art than an intrusive fan. I'd recomend this to anyone else looking for a good desktop fan but am disappointed in the loudness of the high setting.

I have not been able to sleep without a fan on for years. I have even taken a desk fan with me on vacation multiple times because I can not sleep without one. I bought the V6 to replace my bigger desk fan that sat on my nightstand. After just plugging it in about 10minutes ago I see several problems. 1. It is very noisy. I know the high setting would not let me sleep. It seems to make a 'static' kind of nose like there is something stuck in the blades. But I can not find anything at all. I believe it is in part with the 3 blade design and the grill design, but, I did not engineer it so I do not know. 2. It is hard to change the speed.You really have to hold it and use the knob or get your finger in between the slots to change the speed.
Overall out of 10 I would give this a 5 1/2. I could see it as a good desk fan for me at work but when I am trying to sleep I could see this not being able to let me sleep.
