Overall, I'd say they have the product to meet your needs, or at least mine.
It does everything they claim, creating an even temperature throughout the room with the sensation of a slight breeze, which I like. I never have to use a setting other than low for my needs which is a good thing as the wind noise does pick up at higher settings. If I had a larger room it wouldn't be a problem so don't let that hold you back on deciding. Being only 8" in diameter I can attest to the fact that it does move the same amount of air as my old 15" fan which I use to sleep with. It could be quieter but that's due to the compact design and after one night I've gotten used to it.

Powerful but not quiet

We needed something to circulate the air in our basement, so this is perfect for the job. It is very powerful and does a good job of moving the air, looks cute and of good quality. Overall a good buy. However, I wouldn't say it is quiet and wouldn't use it in a bedroom while sleeping. We haven't used a free-standing fan for years (we have ceiling fans that move quite slowly), so probably not used to the distinctive hum that a fan makes at high speed.

I have bought 5 of these fans and have broken a couple over the years (my fault). Upon ordering repair parts I was shipped what I needed without any cost whatsoever. These fans push the most air with the least amount of noise. I have one running year round. I wont own any other!

I had a number of different fans before that were all much larger, much noisier AND much less effective in moving air through the room.
This small little unit actually pierces through the air, making it possible to position it in a window and actually reach the other far end of a 30 ft room and thus keeping all the air fresh through circulation. Box fans and other fans dont reach that far, or if they do, they make a whole lot of noise. This powerful Vornado vortex fan is nearly completely silent.

This fan moves a lot of air effectively. I love the design and the circular airflow. It is an excellent primary source of air circulation or as an adjunct to control AC bills by moving the cooler air around more efficiently in your home. I love Vornado products and this one is no exception!

it doesnt work

i received my vornado months ago I turned it on and it didn't turn on. I fiddled with a few things like different angles etc and it turned on when I held the top. I tried it a few other times but every time it sounded like the motor was working but the blades weren't spinning. I sent it back a month ago and still haven't received it back. I am currently using a 10 yr old fan that is so loud I can not hear anything else in the house .... but hey IT WORKS

Less impressed than I was hoping for

I guess I didn't understand that this fan was not meant to replace a fan for direct cooling on skin. As an air circulator it works fine, but there are no true hot/cold spots in our apartment that we need to have leveled off. As an ordinary table fan, it's mighty expensive, and quite loud on the medium and high settings.

I have four of the Vornado fans in my home in addition to ceiling fans to help in cooling in this hot Texas climate. The amount of air moved by these fans is amazing. Really cools off the rooms. They tend to be a bit loud on the highest speed, but middle and low speeds are very quiet. This is the only fan I will buy, the cheaper ones just don't hold a candle to the Vornado, so the price is worth it.

Innovation thru design has always been vornado's trademark. I have 4 vornado fans because they are quite, easy to clean, reliable and move the air! I won’t buy another fan. There are some out there who have tried to come close to a vornado they all fall short!

Excellent - glad it still gives good "white noise"

My friend has 2 Vornado fans which had been running 24/7 365 for 4 years without any diminishment in performance. I fell in love and got one for my smaller apartment. I crave to feel the air moving around, especially over/around my bed for sleep. Your fan also gives me the gentle "white noise" which helps me relax. I've only had it about one month but have high hopes for its longevity, I already convinced my uncle to purchase one for himself, sight unseen. He is very pleased.
