Not what I expected

While this heater was great looking and ran quietly, I was very disappointed in it overall. It worked great for about 2 months and then all of a sudden the fan stopped working. I consider Vornado to be a reputable company so I was surprised that this product "broke" from normal use. Due to my trust in their quality, I did not even save the receipt.

Great Heater BUT . . .

I purchased 2 and even though the fan in both quit working after a year, I still would buy again! Not to worry because the warranty is 5 years and they are both in for repairs as I write this . . . where else could you get great service and a solid product that heats without much noise?

Excellent Even Heat for Small and Large Space

We bought this heater to maintain our daughters room just right during the winter months and it works great. Quite, circulates the air in the room, and keeps it warm and cozy. We recently used it in our travel trailer on an outing, and it heated and maintained the temperature in an 8'x8'x30' nice and warm through the night as well. Happy with the product, temperature setting is a bit fuzzy not as accurate as a digital thermometer, but once you set it, it's a nice little room heater.

Heater stopped working after 4 months.

Did a great job of heating a small bedroom while it was working, however after 4 months it just stopped working. I would have expected more from Vornado.

Just stopped working

Wow, this little heater worked good, but then it just stopped working. You can not even get the fan to come on, which is very disappointing. It's not like it was cheap or it ran for long periods of time. I would have hoped to get several years out of it instead of less than 2.

Exactly what I needed.

This the 2nd AVH2 heater in use in my home. I just bought the 2nd one because of the below zero temperatures this winter and my laundry room water pipes are freezing. I set this heater up in the room, close the door and the room stays toasty all night keeping the pipes warm. My first unit in is in the Master Bath that is always cold in the mornings. I have it on a timer so the bathroom is nice and warm when I wake up. The manual controls on this heater are perfect for plugging it into an electrical timer. This way the controls are all set to go when you apply power at the cord plug. A digital unit would probably come on "OFF" when used this way. A perfect excuse to stay simply analog and not go digital. I hope Vornado leaves this one this way.

This heater totally warms up a whole room 14x14

We bought this after reading the Consumer Reports Best Buy for heaters. While this heater will not heat a room of 14x14 to a really high temperature, we found that it heats up a whole room of 14x14 comfortably in all areas of the room to no less than 68 degrees which is the temperature we like in the winter. We also have a Honeywell that includes a fan, and while it works for direct heating of the location of my home office, it does not heat up a whole room. We also own the VTH model, which has a digital temperature control. My only complain is that we have had to return two of them because they were very noisy (we have a total of 3 Vornado heaters) but the replacements were quiet as expected for a heater with a fan. Definitely would recommend!

Best heater for the money

We live in Northern Nevada in a 40' toy-hauler RV, with 3 slides. We bought our first Avh2 three years ago. Temperatures in the winter regularly drop into the teens or lower, with daytime highs in the 20's or 30's. This little heater has kept our home comfortably warm. We don't have to worry about the grand kids getting burned when they come to visit. Defiantly meets all advertised expectations. After trying several different less expensive heaters, this one, even though it costs more is by far the best bargain for your buck.

I recently purchased this heater because my in-laws had a Vornado heater that they have had for a couple of years and I was impressed by its performance. The new heater I purchased hardly produces any heat, and despite the heater running for a several hours, the 12' x 16' room has yet to get any warmer or the temperature it is set to reach. I will not be keeping this product.

LOVE THIS HEATER

This AVH2 heater does everything it promises. I have built-in electrical heating and the cost to warm the house usuing the built-in heater is astronomical.
I purchased two of these heaters and as a result, I'm cozy and warm all winter long. I love these heaters.
One draw back, the on /off swicth broke on both heaters after a short amount of time. I thought this was most unusual for both swithces to falter.
Can some one tell me where I can get the on/off switch fixed. I currently have the switch taped down (jury rigged) to the heater and the product stil works but this is probably dangerous.
Aside from the on/off switch, the heater fills the room with warm toasty air.

Not worth the money!

I purchased three whole room heaters and they did not last more than a season. The fan quit working on all three. For the money I wouldn't purchase another one or recommend them.

Doesn't heat much at all

I am very dissapointed in this product. I bought two of these heaters hoping to keep a couple small rooms warm, but they both failed. The heater is not very warm and the only time you can feel it is when you put your hand right next to it. I have several vornado fans, and this also circulates well, but it fails to heat the room and I remain cold. I am very dissapointed in the quality. Hopefully my two units are defects, because this doesnt do the job.

I own several fine Vornado products, but the AVH2 room heater is not one of them. Trying to heat a 8' X 20' space with a outside temp of 45 degrees and it will not get the job done. Measured output temp of heater and on high it is only 105 degrees. Will probably junk and go to cheaper ceramic heater. Regrets

Fantastic heater - perfect for the little ones

I purchased an AVH2 for my kids' rooms and I believe that a Vornado heater is the only one I could trust for them. It heats the room perfectly, I don't have to worry about them burning their fingers or keeping them away from it all the time. It's great that it includes such a wide range of temperatures. I bought another one for my 2nd baby and it broke after a few months. I called customer service, they got me a shipping label and it was returned to me within 4 or 5 days. Best customer service!!! I highly recommend Vornado and the AVH2 to all moms!

Don't waste your money on any other heater

I have owned a Vornado whole room heater since 2004 and have upgraded along the way and passed my older ones on to people who want to try them. They are the best value and efficiency, so much so, that I have not used my propane heat in 2 years. I heat my 1,300sf house with 2 Vornados and saved myself thousands of dollars. My electric bill is no more than running the AC in the summer time and most times less and I use them as fans in the summer time.
Why waste your money on a heater that only heats the space directly in front of it when you can heat a whole room The casing is also cool if you have animals or children. I love everything about this little heater.

Heater motor won't run

I bought a Vornado AVH2 heater couple of years ago and I was surprised by it's performance. How can a small heater able to heat my whole bedroom? So I recomended it to my daughter and she also bought one. However, during the past two weeks, both of our heater motors stopped working. I was able to fixed one by changing the on-off switch, but the other one only turns only when the fan swich is on fast (after I changed the on-off switch). I noticed that the motor is noisy, so is it possible to get a replacement for the fan and motor assembly?

I'm a repeat buyer

I purchased two (2) units about 7 years ago. Unfortunately, 1 unit died, but the other is working fine. But I can't complain since I used the dead unit for almost 7 years and know that I got my money's worth. Thus, I just placed an order for two (2) brand new units. Now, I'm the happy owner of three (3) Vornado heaters.
