I've had my PVH for over four months now, and have not had a single problem with it. I use it in place of the aging built-in heating unit (both noisy and expensive to operate) in my condo. Since getting the PVH my electric bills have gone down, and I have the joy of nearly silent operation. I also have a Vornado Circulator that I use in the summertime in place of air-conditioning. It also cuts down on the bills and is much quieter, as well. Love Vornado products!!

Great...till it broke after a week.

I got this heater as a gift after moving into a new place where the heater only works in certain rooms. It was excellent, despite it's small size it easily warmed my entire master bedroom/bath. It was very quiet and didn't drown out the TV or computer like past heaters I've used.The safety features were noticeable and gave a peace of mind at night, especially since it truly does not get hot like other heaters with metal grills.
Then, I came home, attempted to turn it on and the power button lit up but it wouldn't work. I set it on the lower heat (lower voltage), changed outlits and tried to lower the heat. That didn't work so I plugged it in several outlits on different circuits and different rooms and still nothing. Tried the 'reset' instructions in my manual (unplug and turn off for a few minutes) a still nothing.
After logging on and seeing largely amazing reviews I was disturbed to see a large number of people who had the exact same problem as me. I feel like the reason a person would pay this much for a heater (plus a 5yr warranty) to avoid it breaking every few weeks. I want to pay a premium precisely to NOT have to bother with returning or shipping it back just to get a new one to experiment with.
The only reason I wouldn't recommend this or give a perfect rating is because of the hassle of having a heater fail in the middle of winter, right after buying it. While it's a minor annoyance to have to deal with the days of cold or wearing a coat and small cost for return, I don't think a person should have to accept that from a company.
I choose to buy products which don't require a great deal of hassle to get it to work and wont impose the cost of failure on the consumer. In that aspect the PVH has failed miserably and even though I can just return it to the store I bought it, It is an unnecessary burden which simply puts me in a position I was a few weeks ago. That is a bad position for a company to aspire to.

Good product but has stopped working

I've owned the Vorando PVH heater for 2 months and worked great. The heater has stopped working tonight and I've tried everything that the manual list to troubleshoot the repair with no luck. I've noticed that other people have had the same problem and will be calling Vorando tomorrow for a replacement or repair.

I bought this heater in Oct or Nov and it worked great for about two weeks, then it stopped, so i unplugged it and tried it in another room, it started working again. Then a month and a half later it stopped working altogether. i plan on calling on monday to see what i need to do to get it fixed or exchange it for another model.

I used it one time and now it won't work.

I bought it last year and used it one time and I went to use it last night when the temperature got down in the 30's and it won't turn on. I have tried everything the manual said to do, but nothing happens. I am very disappointed. I had a Vornado that my mother gave me 12 years ago and that one still works, so I am shocked that the newer model is so deficient.

We are sorry you have experienced this issue with your PVH. While it is certainly a possibility that your heater may have quit working, we recommend that you try to plug the unit into several other outlets in the house to ensure the issue doesn't reside in the outlet itself, or that a fuse was not blown. Also, please ensure the automatic tipover plunger-style switch on the bottom is functioning correctly. Make sure the heater is on a level surface, and that nothing is preventing the tipover switch from making full contact with the flooring surface. If you discover that your product is not working, we will repair or replace your unit under our 5 year warranty - at no cost to you. We encourage you to contact our consumer service department who will promptly process your return.

Bought this unit and used it for a few weeks. It just stopped working. Emailed the support staff. They got back with me in just a few days. Requested pictures and unit number. 3 days latter got new unit in mail. I bought this unit because it had a 5 year warranty. Did not think I would need it but 5 years said quality to me. Other heaters my have 1 year warranty and last about that long. Great unit heats well and am grateful for the long warranty. Will Likely buy another one soon.

When i got the PVH it was smaller than expected, but that did not detur me from using the PVH during this winter. When i plugged it in and turned on the heat... the new smell burnt off the coils and the unit pumped heat into my room more than expected. and the PVH wispers for noise.... really once, i could not tell the Heater was running untill i put my hand in front to feel warm air. i like all aspects of the PVH, style, ease of use and safety since the last heater i was useing had 0 safety features talk about sweating at night...

Purchaed the PVH at Lowes and have been very impressed with the performance and quality of this superb little heater. Does a great job keeping our master bath warm and comfortable on cold Colorado nights. We've owned several Vornado products and they have all performed extremely well, the slick looking PVH Heater is no exception. Vornado products tend to be more expensive than other brands, but the quality and performance justifies the additional expense.

I've had this heater for over a year now and I love how it basically eliminates any safety concerns with its multitude of safety features (tip over sensor, non-glowing coils, and twirled grill). This in addition to the fact that it provides a soft, gentle heat which quickly fills a 12'x12' room leads me to say that this is the best portable heater I have ever purchased and probably ever will purchase. It may be slightly more pricy than others, but it's worth every penny.
