I purchased the V207 and after 30 minutes of operation, was so impressed, I ordered 2 of the 530b units. All have done a remarkable job for their intended use. The 530's were purchased for their compact design / smaller footprint but still have the ability to move large amounts of air.
One circulates the air in a 10x10 small bedroom with a 6000 btu window air conditioner. Since placing the unit in the room, we have raised the ac unit temperature 5 to 8 degrees.
The other 530b sits in the kitchen / dining area, on top of the microwave, and circulates the air in a 10 x 20 area. There was very little air movement in this area, and on a humid day, you could literally melt. Now this area stays comfortable.
Both of the 530 units stay on low most of the time. Temperatures have already hit around 90, and we have left them on low.
One change I wish could be made, is if Vornado could use the same motor from the V207 unit. After placing them on a watts meter, the V207 cost less to operate on the medium and high settings.

To make a long story short i had a situation where this fan is running for 8 hours a day or maybe sometimes for 11 hours a day everyday and its been like this for three years now and let me tell you this thing lasts forever i dont know if they knew that when they made it but the fan blade must be a light load on the motor or something but as far as durability goes it has lasted for ages. Ive never owned a fan that has been run for days and years on end so this was the first one. Do all fans last this long i wonder.

Amazing Fan and Customer Service

Have used the 530 for 2 1/2 years on almost a daily basis for night time room circulation. Does an amazing job of circulating the air in a 200sf room. Noise level is perfect. The fan began to hum and no longer work, customer service immediately took action and replaced the fan. I have a number of Vornado's and they have all been outstanding.

After doing an online search for a fan that I can use in my PE office that unfortunately has no A/C, I found the Vorando Compact 530 to be the answer to my problems. It is extremely quiet and moves plenty of air to help keep me cool during those real hot days in August. The adjustable angle allows me to direct the air where I need it the most. I am going to continue to use the Vorando during the winter to help circulate the hot air from our ceiling style heater to make the PE office comfortable.

Vornado is a great fan!

I have three Vornados at home, and one at my hothouse of an office. They go strong for years.
I wish they were easier to get apart and clean, but otherwise, this brand is a workhorse that does its job quietly and well!

Mom lives in a single room in a senior center. The circulation is poor. A fan at the window results in pockets of cold and hot air. This has solved the problem very nicely

I now have 2 Compact 530s. They are unobtrusive, quiet, and really kick out the air for small fans. At low settings they create steady circulation and nobody knows where its coming from.

I purchased the fan for the express purpose of simulating a natural outdoor breeze to activate an 8-note wind chime inside my home. It works perfectly on low speed and the fan 'noise' is imperceptible. Its off-white color matches our room decor to perfection. What a great find !

Poor Reliabilty, Product has stopped functioning after 3 months. Motor slowed down significantly and now wont even turn the blades.

The vornados with the red colored 'V" blowers stronger than the new versions with the blue colored "V' on the grill. My 530 got knocked over and the grill popped off breaking one of the fan blades. I was heartbroken. I did not expect it to break off so easily.

The stage is where I discovered Vornado fans. I worked as a stagehand in a local theater, and saw a Vornado fan being used by a production company putting on a performance at our venue. I asked the tech about it, and he gave it a glowing review. It was the slightly larger fan than the 530, and was used for about an hour during the performance.
At my home, I used a room with a baseboard heater, which was plenty powerful, but caused the room to be very uneven in temperature. I had tried several fans, but none were able to stand up to continuous 24/7 operation. Then, I bought my first Vornado 530. It ran all the time, almost never being turned off, except to be cleaned. Usually, I used it on the low setting, as the room was only about 130 square feet, and it was very quiet, nearly inaudible if soft music were playing. This fan has a swivel base that allows it to be pointed anywhere between nearly straight up and horizontal, allowing cool air to be pushed from the floor to the ceiling.
After about 13 years of continuous operation, I have retired that fan to cooling duties, where I can run it at higher speeds. I replaced it with another Vorado 530, which is purring behind me as I write this. After seeing fans quit after only a few months of operation, and having to put up with noise and vibration from cheap fans, I am convinced that the Vornado 530 is a superior product, capable of circulating the air in a good sized room quietly and efficiently. A must for evening out temperatures and keeping cool!
This is an industrial-grade product, with a powerful motor, very concentrated air flow, and durability. I have never seen a consumer-product air-moving device as good as the Vornado, Even on the 'low' setting, the air movement is noticeable across the room, making warm days endurable, and cold nights comfortable. If you heat with a wood- or pellet-stove, a baseboard heater, or an oil-filled radiator, air circulation is essential.

This is a powerful fan and a great buy to own. This fan is truly a whole room air circulator and it is very powerful. It is not noisy, takes up little space and is a great buy. I am looking forward to cherishing it for many years to come. Although it has been suggested, at times I do not even turn my AC on and I live quite comfortably with the air that this fan circulates around me in my apartment.

I have owned my 530 for several years now and it is still working like the day I bought it! It doesn't take up much space and is virtually silent! I love the swirled grill design and I love how air comes out in a spiral pattern! When I put a regular commercial fan next to it, the little Vornado moves more air than my commercial fan does! Don't be fooled by its size, it moves maximum air! I love my 530!

I bought 2 Vornado (model 530 & 630) in Apr 2011 in HK, the prices are much higher than US; however, the circulation function is terrific, it fills up my bedroom & living/dinning room with breeze. This product suits the temperature (usually humid) in HK.
If the product has a timer as well as remote control, it will be perfect.

Awesome little fan, and so powerful!

Use this fan every summer. Best when across the room, running on low, and pointed right at you (I kick back on the recliner couch)! Also works fantastic on med or high and pointed at the ceiling at an angle (as designed). Just purchased a personal portable fan for the desk at the office. Can't wait! We always take the Vornado Humidors to Mammoth in the summer. Awesome.

I purchased (4) 530 fans in 2010. 2 of them stopped working within 1 year of purchase; after only part time use. But my 5+ year old Vornado fans are still working. Good design, bad manufacturing. Cheap quality, high price.

Far ahead of all the others

After 2 years of running 24/7, my Vornado started making a whining noise. Called customer service and the problem was quickly resolved with a replacement. Excellent customer service.
With the purchase of my Vornado, I was able to go from 3 fans running in my home down to the one fan. It works great.
Initially, I was a bit skeptical about spending that much on a single fan, but overall, it was the right choice. In the 2 years that I had it, I would have easily gone through 5-6 of the other brands. The energy savings alone of not having to run 3 fans continually paid for my Vornado. This is the only fan for me from here on out.
I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.

Why after 3 months of use does one of the fans break off? The unit was working very well, it really moved the air arounf, now nothing, I spent a good amount of money and was thinking of getting a stand upm version....but after this, I have second thoughts....
