Vornado TVH 600 Heater Fan

I bought this product today at Bed Bath and Beyond in Somerville, MA.
When I turn it on, it is so quiet. The only thing I dont like about is the smell of burning heating coils inside this fan. I can only the temperature at 63 degrees on high heat setting. I also like this feature that comes with remote to set temperature on heat, fan, and hour timer so it will not overheat. I also like using the remote so I dont need to touch the button on this heater and it is convenient. Also moves lots of heat.

It All Depends on Room Size

Over the last few months I have purchased various "Whole Room Heaters" from Costco, Fry's and Target including this Vornado. If you want a Heater that looks and feels like a Precision Instrument this Vornado is it. But in addition to looks and feel I needed a heater to HEAT two separate rooms. One is my bedroom. No matter which heater I put in the bedroom it worked just fine, BECAUSE I COULD CLOSE OFF THE BEDROOM DOOR AND ISOLATE THE ROOM. Every heater could do this. Thus the only remaining factor is the Noise Level. If if makes noise I cannot sleep. So all except one went back, including this Vornado.
My other room that I wanted to heat is my DEN which is more of a GREAT ROOM which opens into the Kitchen and Dining Room with no doors to close to isolate the room. Trying to heat this room with any type of portable heater, including this heater which says it is a WHOLE ROOM HEATER, is an exercise in futility. Unless you can isolate your room by closing it off from the rest of your house do not waste your money on ANY portable heater, it simply cannot do the job.

I have used this heater for 3 years now. I don't understand all the negative reviews. This heater out performs any of the other heaters. This heater heats the "whole" room as it says without the cold spots associated with the way other heaters work. Also, the company backs up their products. You have to realize the way this heater works, and not to expect hot air to blow from it like other heaters. In saying this, it warms up the whole room. Something you won't find any other heaters do. Also, this is suppose to be used as a supplemental heater,and not a sole source of heat. Some people's expectations are unrealistic when it comes to "room heaters'. thumbs up to Vornado! Thank you! your heaters are great.

Purchased heater for a very drafty downstairs addition with poor heat, Heats a very large area comfortably, and as an extra bonus, keeps the heat from staying constantly on and cooking the upstairs. Love it so far!!

If you expect this heater to heat a 10 x 20 room to toaster warmness, well, forget it. It is not made for that. I use my unit in my home office which is approx. 120 sq ft. Unit works very well. It "seems" that when the unit is first turns on that there is little heat being directed outward. But the amount of heat being generated plus the vortex movement of the airflow will begin raising the temp of my office within 5 minutes. Within an hour the temp is around 77F. The warmth factor envelops you, unlike a space heater that directs high temp towards one location. Unit is relatively quiet and like that famous bunny, just keeps going, and going, and going. As for CONS, I think the remote sensor unit is a great idea but I would have liked to have been able to see ALL the heater functions on the handheld remote screen . As it is, you only get to see the current temp of the room.

Very disappointing

This product was recommended by Consumer Reports so I decided to try it. Well, it has been a bit of a dud I'm sorry to say.
The first one arrived Dead on Arrival. I returned it to the dealer and ordered another one.
It took a few days so I ran dealer and was informed a shipment had arrived damaged so they were out of stock.

The second one arrived a few days later. The main heater unit worked BUT the remote refused to take instructions. I'm now sending this unit back to the dealer.
This is so disappointing and disruptive. It seems there is no quality control procedures at the factory
I will say the what heat it generated when it did work without the remote was comfortable and pleasant.
The only way i would try another one now is if I'm offered one at cost and they will accept feedback on its performance.

The year it was bought it was great! Got it out the second year to use it and it wouldn't work right. The heater would come on but wouldn't shut off. Now it doesn't work at all. Way to much money for one year of use!

Noise level is too high.

The look and feel of the product is great. When I turn it on, however, it fails to meet expectations. The fan seems to wobble if the surface on which the unit stands is not completely flat. Because the fan isn’t anchored firmly within the unit, it gives off a retelling noise when it is turned on. It’s too loud for a bedroom (interferes with sleep), for a media room (noise competes with a TV), or a living room (noise can distract from a conversation). I am hoping I received a faulty product, because I’ve had great experiences with Vornado products.

I live in a split-foyer and the downstairs is always cold and before I was using the tower type heater and it wouldn't begin the keep the downstairs at the temp I set it at. It ran all the time, yet didn't keep it warm. So I did some surfing and came across this website. I purchased the Vornado 600, and wow, what a difference. I read about the "way" it heats, and I LOVE it! I have not had one problem with it. I set it at the temperature in which I want to keep the room and sure enough when i check it, the room is at that temp. There is no comparsion as to the way it keeps the downstairs warm, as to those "space heaters"! I would highly recommend this tpe of heater to anyone that needs supplemental heat. Thank you Vornado! Your product rocks!!! Great value for the money.

Many users are accustomed to the intense direct heat of an infrared, panel or ceramic element heater - whereas Vornado heaters are designed to produce a steady current of 120º F heated air. Quality at Vornado continues

We have become Vornado users thru purchase and use of multiple fans during hot weather with absolute satisfaction. That experience led to the purchase of a Vornado whole room heater as we head into cold weather. Our house has some imbalance in how the forced air system heats so thought this might be an easier cure to that problem than a complete heating system overhaul. Almost completely silent - super safety features-attractive-etc., etc. Our appreciation of all things Vornado continues.

I purchased this heater in 2008 and it has worked wonderfully since. It is so quiet and the quiet breeze it emits is actually very relaxing and soothing to fall asleep to. The heater maintains the set temperature perfectly. To date, I have had no problems with this heater and feel 100% comfortable at night that I am safe while it continues to keep me warm. I have had many space heaters in the past and I would rate this one at the top. I would recommend this purchase to anyone.

I've tried this product three times!

If only this heater would keep working, it would be wonderful. I bought this heater for my daughter's room so she could sleep comfortably through the night. The first heater I bought worked great for one night and then it wouldn't turn on again. I exchanged it for another heater figuring I just got a bad egg. Well... the second heater worked okay for five nights. The only thing that wasn't great was that it was making a rumbling noise but I was just happy it was heating, so I figured I could deal with the noise. After the fifth night it quit registering the correct temperature. It said it was 70 degrees in the room, but it was actually 78 degrees and getting hotter and hotter. So, I exchanged the heater a third time. The third heater worked great for three weeks, but now it won't blow out hot air at all. Argh... now I'm trying to find a different heater that will be safe and actually work. When this heater was working properly, I really loved it.

Super Way Cool Heater Fan!

This heater is super duper quiet while pumping out gallons of warm air. The remote is handy while using the product at night. The neat touchscreen is fun to show off to friends. I love it!
