I Love this vornado heater

I was all set to purchase the cheaper vornado heater when I checked their website. Who would have thought that I could purchase the next step up in Vornado heaters that is also safe to use in the bathroom for only $10 more!!!! I saved $80 on 2!!! I have never bought a Vornado product that didn't out perform all of their competitors. I run the heaters all day and night as it's too expensive to use our 220v electric furnance. They heat the whole room for less! I have severe asthma and need clean, warm air to stay healthy. I also use the Vornado fans all summer as I know that I am able to count on them.

This is perfect for one room heating. We have it on our 40' motorcoach in the back bedroom at night and close the door, it keeps it 72-85 on nights where it's in the low 30s! We put it up front during the day, usually keeps the temps in the 60s throughout the bus! We love it. Saves $ in the long run for us too because it has that little high/low switch & we keep it on 750w (low) in the day. We used to have 2 oil filled radiator style heaters but this works much better, costed much less! Thanks!

I tried to use it to heat the garage while working in it. The fan works, it puts out heat. But so very little I also bought another brand with the same wattage for just less than half the price and it kicks the vornado in the butt. twice. and a half. I can't imagine this thing would heat up a closet with the door closed (that's sarcasm).

Unlike heaters that produce a very intense heat immediately in front of the unit, a Vornado pushes heated air throughout the room. A garage is typically not sealed or insulated, so the heat most likely could not build up and elevate the space's temperature. Since a large, airy garage would be difficult to heat completely, it is quite likely that a standard heater that keeps just one area near you warm may suit your needs better than a Vornado. Customers that most enjoy their Vornado experience tend to use them inside the house, in a room that is able to allow the heat to steadily build up around them. We'd recommend trying your Vornado in your bedroom or inside the house to experience how effective your whole room heater can be.

The heater seems to work really well for the most part. I wished it would get a little hotter. When it's very cold in the room it doesn't seem to get the room warm enough. It may be that it's just not a big enough heater for the size room. I have another heater of a different brand that seems to work just as well. I believe the Vornado does distribute heat more evenly though. I purchased this one for the warranty and the fact that it is American made. Over all I am pleased with it.

Vornado heaters are fabulous

I have a Vornado heater (which I depend on) and a colleague of mine was moving into a house that was known to be chilly. I sent the heater to them as a Christmas gift. They loved it! In fact, today we were IMing about it and this is what was IMd, "That heater is amazing. It really works the way you say! The whole space is the same temperature!".

Great heater for my office

My 10x14 office has an indoor weather problem. It gets very cold when the AC is on or the heat is too low, and it has a wall of south-facing windows that can turn the room into a stifling greenhouse.
I was looking for a heater that had some flexibility, with both heat and fan-only options. The VH103 model fits the bill. (It's the same as the AVH2, just with a slight difference in the finish.)
I had been using a smaller space heater, but it wasn't adequate to handle the large space. I can point this heater toward the windows/air vents, and it effectively distributes air evenly and warms the whole space. I don't feel like it creates hot/cold spots or drafts.
I also like the variable-speed fan option, which runs faster with higher temp settings, very slowly/quietly on lower heat -- just enough to distribute the air. I can use the high heat setting to warm the room quickly, then revert to the more energy-efficient low heat setting to maintain the temperature.
The regular price is a little high, but I got the heater on special for $70, and feel like that was a good value for a quality product. You do get what you pay for, and this is a better product and more effective design than typical inexpensive space heaters.

I bought this for our bedroom after we had rearranged some furniture and blocked the baseboard heater. It's very quiet, which was a requirement given it would be used while we slept.
Additionally, the temperature stays perfectly consistent. There's never the feeling of oppressive heat the way the baseboard used to give.
We were so impressed we bought another one for the nursery we're building.

I just purchased my third heater. It is a powerhouse for it's size. Quickly heats the room and keeps it at a consistant temperature . Low noise so it doesn't interfere with conversation or TV. Great value. Only wish it had a handle so it would be easier to move around.

This machine does what they said it would with no fuss or muss. Quiet and comfortable. The machine maintains set temperatures quite well. Heats a 100 sq foot room quite easily even in chilly (sub 30s) weather with no other heat source.

Unlike other space heaters, the cord does not get hot. That's a good thing. Unfortunately, I felt the heat that was generated was warm at best, not hot, coming from the unit. Do I have a broken unit, I don't know. Since I bought it online, I'll just eat the loss.

Bought the AVH2 Heater to heat an 84 square foot room that never seems to get enough heat when my furnance is running. My wife likes to keep the furnance setting at 68 degrees all winter. I like it warmer so I bought this unit to move whereever I plan to be. Did not need a 1,000 watt unit, but I thought the smaller unit with a max of 300 watts may be too small. Have used the heater in my 84 square foot den on 750 watts, 70-75 degree settings and low fan speed and in my 154 square foot family room on 750 watts, 85 degree settings and high fan speed and the unit warmed the rooms within 15-20 minutes to my desire and when the rooms got too warm, I just turned down the thermastatic setting and/or air speed. I placed the unit fartherest from where I sit so the air did not get too dry and I could not hear any noise noise from the fan motor, but I am a little deaf and my wife could hear a faint sound. When I was near the unit, I could feel the fan lower by the amount of air emmitting. I got mine at $40 off, but without the discount, with the way this unit performs and the 5 year 100 percent warranty, I would buy this heater because it does what it says it does on the web site, a great value and best of all, it is made in the US of A. Cannot attest to cost savings. Have not checked my gas and electric bill yet, but my last bill did not seem to be any higher than normal.

This unit is more quiet than I expected yet moves a good volume of moderately hot air without cooking your legs. The automatic setting will be a good feature to cycle the fan/heat on and off for a set temp. The grill does stay cool enough to touch.

I've heard good things about Vornado for years and finally bit the bullet during a recent sale. The VH103 works great to keep my living room (12x15) comfortable.
The unit is well constructed, controls are intuitive and easy to use with rocker switches (one for fan speed, one for heat setting, one for power) and a temperature dial. It is possible to run the fan without the heat by turning the temperature dial all the way down, so you could use it as a circulator in the summer and a heater in the winter. I run it in the low fan/heat setting most of the time and the fan sound is barely audible in the low and doesn't bother me, however the higher setting is more audible. The manual has recommendations on how to set the heat and fan rocker switch settings depending on the room size.
The heater works by positioning it at one of the corners and pointing it to the middle of the room. The vortex action helps to warm the entire room up to a comfortable level, instead of the other types of heaters which "spot" heat only in the direction you aim it. My only regret is that I did not buy more than one as I could use a second heater in my basement.
I highly recommend this over standard heaters that don't have a "vortex" like action to warm up a room instead of just a direction.
